In the video, we’re going to review what’s important when executing a third shot drop. First of all, it’s important to think of your third shot drop as nothing more than a long dink. Whatever technique you use when you’re at the kitchen line will be the exact same technique you use for your third shot drop. For instance, whether you prefer flat dinks or forehand dinks, your third shot drop is basically going to be an exact replica of your dink.
The other thing that’s important on a third shot drop is to use your forehand side, not your backhand. You can hit your backhand drop in the kitchen all day long, but if you like to drive with your forehand, it’s better to keep both options open.
