Master the Two Shot Pickleball Drill

Description:

Steve Dawson

This drill is called the two-shot drill. One player back at the baseline has only two choices; either to drive the ball or to drop the ball. As you know, the only shot you do not hit from back at the baseline is a lob, so you get repeated chances to drive or drop.

It’s very important when you do this drill to not hit only drives and not hit only drops. That’s too easy. The difficult skill is to be able to mix in drives followed by drops. As each one takes its own set of timing and feel to be able to alternate the shots between drives and drops.
