There’s more to Austin, Texas, than college football, live music, and barbecue.

It also has a rapidly growing pickleball scene, especially for players looking for a match with a side of socializing. Whether you’re an Austin resident looking for a new place to play or a tourist looking for a spot to explore during your upcoming trip, there’s no shortage of excellent pickleball venues in the area. Here’s a look at some of our favorites.

Austin Tennis and Pickleball Center

Looking for an incredible public pickleball facility in Austin? With eight lighted pickleball courts and a pro shop, the Austin Tennis & Pickleball Center is a public haven for players of all skill levels.

It is the largest public pickleball and tennis center in the city and offers a full calendar of group classes, leagues, and social events to help players connect.

Austin Pickle Ranch

Want to introduce your friends and family to pickleball? Austin Pickle Ranch with sixteen indoor courts is the answer! The rookies can sign up for a Greenhorn Clinic to get their feet wet while you reserve a court or hop into open play to compete with players on your level.

Dreamland Dripping Springs

Dreamland is more than a pickleball facility. It has four covered and 12 uncovered pickleball courts available for lessons, clinics, and tournaments.

Pickleball is just the start of the fun, though. With two mini golf courses, a splash pad, disc golf, and a full calendar of music events, there’s something for everyone looking for a day of entertainment. After exploring everything Dreamland offers, hit the restaurant for some locally sourced food or the beer garden for an ice-cold local beer.

Bouldin Acres

Two locations, twice the fun! This growing pickleball venue has locations in South Lamar and Braker Lane, and both offer courts, lawn games, and a full-service bar.

Book a court in advance and prepare for a quick 30-minute match. After you torch the competition, sample one of their seasonal cocktails, then dig into a tasty burger or brisket burrito. Settle in to watch the big game on one of the TVs, and make some friends at the bar. However long you stay, you’ll get the full Austin pickleball experience.

Eastside Paddle Club

This growing pickleball club is the largest facility in Austin, according to its website. With six courts in this 22,000-square-foot indoor facility and four rooftop courts coming soon, it’s the perfect spot for pickleball aficionados.

Monthly memberships are available, as well as day passes. The calendar includes open play, which has a kings/queens court, as well as advanced, intermediate, and beginner courts.

Urban Pickleball Club

Rooftop pickleball with a downtown view? It’s no wonder Urban Pickleball Club is one of the most popular playing venues in Austin. With five outdoor courts, there’s plenty of space for members to pop by for a match in the heart of the city.

In between matches, find a seat at one of the picnic tables or Adirondack chairs to take in the other matches and socialize with other members.

The Pitch

Your entire family will love visiting The Pitch! Reserve one of the courts for a personal match or group lesson. You can even host a tournament at the venue!

After your match, grab a bite from one of four restaurants, a coffee from the coffee shop, or a drink from one of the two on-site bars. The calendar includes several days of all-day open play, as well as events like family movie nights, trivia nights, and soccer watch parties.

Other Racquet Social Club

Nestled in East Austin, this 50,000 square-foot venue has several pickleball courts, as well as food trucks and a stage for live music.

Members have access to tons of perks, from private lounge access to a cold plunge and sauna to help with recovery. There are also weekly clinics to help you hone your game.

Last Stand Brewing

There’s only one court at Last Stand Brewing, so it’s crucial to nab a reservation before heading to this South Austin venue. Get there early or plan to stay after your match to try some of the house-made craft beer. There’s also a restaurant with a full menu that includes burgers, appetizers, and wraps.

Pan American Neighborhood Park

With three dedicated pickleball courts and a multi-purpose court with lines for pickleball, this neighborhood park is the perfect place for players looking for a match with other locals. There is open play each day, but check the website for the most up-to-date times.
